Community Partnerships

The goal of the Advocacy Committee is to strengthen the communication between students, staff, families, and the greater community. One of the major efforts of this committee is organizing Elected Officials Day. At this event elected officials are invited to spend the day at WYMLA, speaking to students and parents about the role of various elected officials on how local government is working to improve education in Wake County.

Our organization always appreciates the generosity and involvement of our Phoenix families. The Fundraising committee is dedicated to making our fundraising efforts simple & enjoyable for staff, students, and family members. From events at Adventure Landing to our widely popular March Madness event, all ages are always welcome. We make every effort to select fundraising events that provide the WYMLA PTSA with the largest percentage of financial return going towards WYMLA PTSA so we may pass the proceeds on to WYMLA students and staff.

HOSPITALITY

Supporting our Staff

We rely on parents to help show our gratitude for the WYMLA staff. Some examples include donating items for a Thanksgiving luncheon, delivering goodie bags to teachers during teacher appreciation, or making a financial donation for staff gift cards. Be on the look-out for Sign Up Geniuses throughout the year from the our Hospitality team to support their efforts.

This is one of the simplest ways to help out our cause. We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the all our families at WYMLA to become members of the PTSA.
